Coventry City striker Kevin Kyle has again been linked with a move to Plymouth Argyle.
The Scottish international was the subject of interest from Argyle boss Paul Sturrock last month and there is renewed speculation that Kyle could move on-loan to Home Park next week.
After the chaos and excitement caused by the closure of the transfer window on Monday thoughts will now turn to the opening of the 'emergency loan' window on September 8th where Football League clubs can bring in players on-loan before the window closes on November 27th.
Argyle, Crystal Palace and Burnley were all reported to have expressed an interest in signing Kyle last month but no move materialised. Coventry are keen for the 27-year old striker to go out on-loan next week with Argyle his rumoured destination.
Sturrock signed former Manchester City striker Emile Mpenza on Monday but would still like another target-man in his squad to provide competition for Rory Fallon.
Kyle started his career at Sunderland, making a number of appearances in the Premier League. After loan spells at Huddersfield Town, Darlington and Rochdale the 6 ft 3in forward moved to Coventry for £600,000 in 2006.
After a successful first season at the Ricoh Arena things went wrong for Kyle in his second season after picking up two red cards in three games and he moved to Wolverhampton Wanderers on-loan in January this year. He started off well at Wolves, becoming a permanent fixture in the side as Mick McCarthy's men were pushing for a play-off place but towards the end of the season Kyle found himself being brought on as a late substitute.
