'If It's Football, It's Vital'

The Joys Of League One

Oh well, it's all over bar the shouting, League One here we come!

After the defeat against Reading last night Argyle fans are just waiting for formality of the dreaded R being placed next to our name in the Championship league table.

It's been a blast for the last six years but the writing has been on the wall since Ian Holloway departed in 2007 and Paul Sturrock returned, appointing Sturrock is surely the biggest mistake in the clubs' history?

So it's 'hello' League One and what joys await for us as we once again take our rightful place in the football food chain?
Well, there's the short trip up the A38 to play our Devon cousins at Sid James Park, we'll pat them on the head, take the three points and be home in time for tea!
It was only two years ago that Argyle were three leagues above that lot up the road, still at least Argyle are guaranteed six points if Exeter avoid relegation themselves!

There's also short trips to Yeovil, Bristol Rovers, Brentford, Orient, Walsall and Southampton to look forward to, but don't forget the four day slogs to northern outposts Carlisle and Hartlepool, deep joy.

Those lovely people at the Football League may even let us return to standing on the Mayflower terrace which means we can bid farewell to those 'temporary' seats as they return to whatever golf course they were borrowed from.
We may also feature as a live game on the tele and get more than 10 seconds when any highlights are shown.

There's also our lovely 40,000 capacity new World Cup 2018 stadium on the horizon, the faithful 5,000 will have plenty of room; we could even have an executive box each!
Has a club in the third of football ever hosted a World Cup game?

It's goodbye to the Championship, our affair lasted six years but it's time to go back to the wife!

Thanks Roy!

I might enjoy watching Argyle in a lower league, at least I can be thankful to Sturrock for something.
