Argyle Companies - The Latest!

An updated look at the many companies connected to Plymouth Argyle Football Club.

With a Chairman and Directors recently resigning it's worth catching up with the latest business news with not a football in sight!

Plymouth Argyle Football Company Limited.
Nature of business - To operate sports arenas and stadiums.
The original Argyle company which was formed in 1910 that now includes Directors Keith Todd, Paul Stapleton, Tony Wrathall, Robert Dennerly, George Synan and Yasuaki Kagami plus around 950 ordinary shareholders.
Sir Roy Gardner resigned as Chairman and Director in December.

The company had an initial winding-up petition served last year followed by a court appearance on December 8th, a further court date is scheduled for February 9th where a tax bill to Her Majesty's Revenue and Customs is likely to have been settled.

Plymouth Argyle Football Company Holdings Limited.
Formed in 2001 and includes Directors Keith Todd, Paul Stapleton, Tony Wrathall, Robert Dennerly, George Synan and Yasuaki Kagami.
Sir Roy Gardner resigned as Chairman and Director in December.
The company was served a winding-up petition but settled the tax bill to HMRC by the court date of 12th January and the petition was dismissed.

Home Park Properties Limited.
Formed in January 2010 by Keith Todd, originally called Scott Lodge Development Limited but had a name change in March 2010.
Set-up to purchase the Home Park stadium from the football club but this hasn't happened and the company is now expected to be dissolved.

Paul Stapleton and Tony Wrathall were named as Directors in September 2010 but both stepped down at the end of last year leaving Todd as the only Director.
HPPL owe £260,000 in unpaid tax to Her Majesty's Revenue and Customs, after an initial court appearance in December the company is likely to have paid this debt by the next court date on 9th February.
Plymouth Argyle Football Company Holdings Limited now own a share in HPPL.

Home Park Venue Services Limited.
The latest edition to the Argyle stable of companies. Formed in August 2010, operating company for Home Park stadium, to oversee and organise various events other than football.
HPVSL was formed by Todd who was then joined by Stapleton and Wrathall in September, however both Directors stood down at the end of last year.

Mastpoint Limited.
Formed in March 2009 to provide the necessary funds from wealthy investors to purchase Home Park stadium through a mortgage.
The accounts for this company are now eight weeks overdue.

Daniel Desmond - 100.
Dick and Don Limited - 25.
Larry Hirst - 25.
Rob Lucas - 100.
Natalie Newby-Ricci - 20.
Eddie O`Connor - 100.
Joseph J Plumeri - 100.
David Rowe - 100.
Roland Rudd - 25.
Peter J Wood - 100.
Bernard Taylor - 50.

Mastpoint Finance Limited.
Formed in August 2009 to deal with a new mortgage for Argyle with Sir Roy Gardner and Keith Todd named as Trustees.
The accounts for this company are now four weeks overdue.

Plymouth World Cup Bid Limited.
Formed in August 2009 to oversee Plymouth's bid to become a host city for the 2018 World Cup.
Directors named as Paul Stapleton and Douglas Fletcher but in light of the failed England bid for the World Cup this company is likely to be dissolved.

K & K Consortium Limited.
Formed in June 2009. Kagami and Synan terminated their Directorship in July 2009 with Todd joining as a new Director.
Also in July 2009 K & K Shonan Management Corporation (a company operated by Kagami and Synan) sold its shares to Mastpoint Limited.
In October 2009 Gardner joined the company as a Director.
The K&KCL was used by Todd and Gardner to buy 13% of shares in Argyle.
Currently Todd and Gardner are still Directors at K&KCL with Mastpoint Limited a shareholder.

K & K Shonan Management Corporation.
A company set-up by Japan-based Directors Kagami and Synan to purchase shares in Argyle, the share stake now stands at 38%.

Plymouth Sports Centre Limited.
Formed in October 2003 by Argyle Directors Stapleton, Dennerly and Phill Gill.
The company is not directly linked to PAFC but was used by three Directors to purchase a parcel of land near the Home Park stadium. The land included a cricket club and football centre.
Gill left the Argyle Board of Directors in 2009 but along with Stapleton and Dennerly he remains a Director at PSCL.
