Argyle Sign Gilmartin

Plymouth Argyle have signed former Watford keeper Rene Gilmartin.

The 6-foot 5-inch tall shot-stopper started his career at Walsall before moving to Watford in 2010, however, opportunities were limited at Vicarage Road and Gilmartin had loan spells at Yeovil and Crawley.

The former Republic of Ireland under-21 international was released by Watford at the end of last season.
Gilmartin, 25, holds a UEFA B coaching licence.

Carl Fletcher now has three goalkeepers in his squad with Jake Cole and Ollie Chenoweth all competing for the number one jersey.

Welcome aboard the good ship Mayflower, Rene.
