'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Tony's PASB Campaign Update

Plymouth Argyle fan Tony Hooper releases his sixth campaign newsletter ahead of the election for the Plymouth Argyle Supporters Board.

Nine independent fans have put themselves forward to contest the six seats on offer for the PASB with the voting procedure about to begin.

Tony has embraced the concept of the PASB and readily made himself available to answer questions and promote the PASB.

Over to Tony....

V Day

Well, who would have thought it but today is the day some people will get their ballot papers to elect 6 people to represent fans on the Plymouth Argyle Supporters Board. Of course, most ballots will reach club members early next week.
But today or tomorrow we are in unprecedented waters and at the start of a new fan/ Board relationship.
If it does anything it should strive to make it a safer and better football club to support.

I would be fibbing if I didn't want everyone to vote for me. At the time of going to press it is believed every member will have up to 6 votes reflecting the 6 positions available. All I ask is that people do vote for someone.

Why and why me?

In the first edition of 'Campaign News' back on the 21st July, I said 'I think any Argyle fan would want the opportunity to ask the questions we regularly do in the pub, home or indeed at Home Park. Be it why isn't the budget big enough to sign better players or why are the pasties not Ivors. Why haven't we got decent training facilities or the price and range of beer available?
For many fans it isn't always the big, set piece finance issues it is often the toilets being awful that gets to many people.

'And it is this range of issues that having been a fan for over 40 years I can relate to.'

Nothing has changed, except we still don't have Ivor`s back inside Home Park! So why me? I gave an assessment of what I thought I could bring in the same article 'But if anything has prepared me for a job to scrutinize the Board it is the fact I am a trained and working fraud investigator.
'This has taught me to examine an issue from all angles and then to look again. As part of the process I am also an experienced interviewer of people from all walks of life. I do not feel intimidated speaking to successful people, as those that have heard me speak at the Guildhall and elsewhere will testify.'

So, let's go and vote for a better, more involving club and don't put it off:

Please vote for Tony Hooper.
