Concerts Back At Home Park?

Music concerts could be making a return to Home Park.

Plymouth Argyle first played host to major stars in 2007 when Elton John and George Michael performed at Home Park followed by Meatloaf and Westlife in 2008 and finally Rod Stewart in 2009 but there have been no more gigs since then.

However, following the recent appointment of Colin Sexstone to the Argyle Board of Directors music concerts could be back on the agenda.
Sexstone was previously Chief Executive and then Chairman at Bristol City and was instrumental in bringing big acts to the Ashton Gate stadium for sell-out concerts.

Over the last few years big names such as the Rolling Stones, Bon Jovi, Bryan Adams and The Who all played at Ashton Gate.
Bristol's stadium has a capacity of 19,500, without the pitch area, and is similar to Home Park in size.

Sexstone has been tasked in developing extra income at PAFC and his plans might include repeating his earlier success of staging sold-out concerts.

The Pilgrims' struggled to make a profit on some previous gigs at Home Park but with Sexstone's experience and contacts the club could reap a better financial dividend.

The proposed construction of the new grandstand due to start in the second half of 2013 might pose a logistical problem at Home Park should any concerts be arranged, although a gig or two planned in early summer after the football season has finished should navigate any construction obstacles.

Metallica please, Mr Sexstone!
