Burning Rubber

The Green Army will have to travel a few extra miles for season 2013-2014.

The Pilgrims' will clock up 10,959 miles when they hit the road for all 23 away League Two games, a slight increase on last season when 10,908 miles were registered on the Black Pasty while season 2011-2012 saw 10,522 miles clocked up.

The longest journey will be to Hartlepool, who were relegated from League One, with a round trip of 775 miles, while the shortest will be to Devon neighbours Torquay United at just 68 miles.
Bury were also relegated from League One and gave us 588 miles to enjoy.

We lost Aldershot and Barnet to the Conference which by our standards were relatively short trips although this was balanced by Newport coming up from the Conference.

Despite the long distances the fans will still turn out in numbers as proven last season when Argyle had the third highest travelling support in League Two with 16,766 members of the Green Army watching their team in action in the far flung corners of the UK.
That's an incredible average of 729 fans at each away league game just behind Port Vale with 910 and Bradford with an average of 875 fans at each away game.
