Bhasera Set For Turkish Trial

Bhasera Set For Turkish Trial

Out of contract Argyle left-back Onismor Bhasera has been offered a trial with Turkish Super League side Sanica Boru Elazigspor.

Elazigspor start their pre-season preparations at a training camp in the Netherlands on July 10 and have invited Bhasera to attend the sessions.

The Turkish side finished in 13th place in the Super League last season and play in the 14,000 capacity Elazig Ataturk stadium.

Argyle manager John Sheridan has received no contact from Bhasera since offering the Zimbabwean international a new contract at the end of last season and is now planning for the new campaign by looking at three left-backs during pre-season training.

Bhasera's agent Ralph Nkomo says Bhasera has also attracted interest from a Championship club, he said: 'He will be on trials with Elazigspor which is in the Turkish Premier League.
'The club will start its pre-season training on 10 July in Netherlands and they will pick up Bhasera in England. Elazigspor are looking for a left back and want to have a look at him since they don't know how he plays.
'There is also an offer from another Championship division side in England.'

Fine, happy days Baz. Don't really see what all the fuss is about though. He was at the end of his contract, didn't say he was coming back, didn't have to come back. We can do better anyway at much less cost. Can't exactlly say he's messed us around and if he and his Agent want to be igorant and disrespectful then that's their problem.

Bhasera was hit and miss during his time with us. He stuck with us during admin and the club stood by him during his long injury. He was a steady left-back who finally produced the performances we all knew he could during the second half of last season, whether that was because of the influence of Sheridan or because he was performing for any watching scouts as his contract was expiring we'll never know. The defensive abilities of Bryan (himself a left-back at Bristol City) also helped Bhasera get noticed. Bhasera is the last of the Championship wage type-player, the club has moved on and now looks at value for money, I think Sheridan can get a player who is just as good as Bhasera but for less wages. Thanks Bhas, now show the club some courtesy by contacting Sheridan.
