A Dockyard Derby against Portsmouth live on Sky - the perfect opportunity for the Argyle players to turn the season around!
After a poor start to the season we desperately need the tonic of a win and not just a regulation three points either, the club, the manager, the fans and the players need a convincing performance to go hand-in-hand with the win.
We've only seen two wins at Home Park this season and just two goals scored and one of them was a penalty!
It's now our sixth succesive season of woe at home, during that time we've played 120 league games, winning just 37 (31%), drawing 32 (26%) and losing a mammoth 51 (43%) games with a goal ratio of 128 scored and 151 conceded. My God, we've had it bad!!
Come on lads, if you're reading this, we've suffered enough, please give us something to cheer about and beat Pompey in front of the watching nation (does anyone know what the usual Sky viewing figures are for a League Two game, answers on a postcard?)
We all know there's a good team in there somewhere, we saw you destroy Cheltenham 3-1 on their own patch earlier this season, one of the best away performances seen in recent years.
John Sheridan signed you all because he knew you were good players, players who have performed well in higher leagues, you haven't suddenly turned into carthorses.
This Saturday against Pompey give that little bit extra for the fans and before you cross that white line just ask Paul Wotton what PAFC means to the Green Army, he'll get you in the right frame of mind!
We've backed you home and away, home attendances in the first five games of this season have increased by 12% from last season and up 25% from 2011-2012 when compared to the first five home games of those two seasons.
You've seen us at away games in our thousands cheering you on after travelling hundreds of miles to get to games.
Give us some effort, commitment and skill and we'll back you 100%, as we have done, however we are not mugs and cheers can quickly turn to jeers if we see anyone not pulling their weight for the team.
Chalk up this win not only for yourselves and us but also for the manager who is having a tough time at the moment. Sheridan is very experienced in this league; he's been successful in winning promotion, let him guide you.
When you pull on that Green shirt on Saturday (morning) have a look at the club crest on your chest; that Mayflower ship represents us Pilgrims, the fans and staff who went through so much two years ago to save a football club.
We fought and battled and never gave up on PAFC, we would like you to do the same this Saturday and give everything for 90 minutes.
Wear the shirt with pride.
Let's get this season back on track! We are right behind you!
