Argyle Players In The Premier League

Argyle Players In The Premier League

An incredible 16 players have left Argyle within the last 10 years and gone on to play in the Premier League.

Some players were sold to a Premier League club for a transfer fee; some were on-loan at Home Park and returned to their top flight parent club while others were promoted from the Championship.

It's an eye-opener to see so many former Argyle players progress and play in the best league in the world and highlights just how many excellent players played in Green, with the majority coming from our Championship era.

Played in the Premier League after leaving Argyle within the last 10 years:

Yannick Bolasie - Crystal Palace.
Akos Buzsaky - QPR.
Craig Cathcart - Blackpool.
James Chester - Hull.
Matt Derbyshire - Blackburn.
Sylvan Ebanks-Blake - Wolves.
Sam Gallagher - Southampton.
Dan Gosling - Everton/Newcastle.
Peter Halmosi - Hull.
Jamie Mackie - QPR.
Craig Noone - Cardiff.
Vincent Pericard - Stoke.
Jason Puncheon - Crystal Palace.
Scott Sinclair - Swansea/Man City/WBA.
David Stockdale - Fulham.
Elliott Ward - Norwich.

A very good team could be selected from that squad!

Ashley Barnes is also set to play in the Premier League with Burnley next season.
