Argyle's Home Form

Argyle's Home Form

After suffering six seasons of terrible results at Home Park the home form of Argyle will be a key issue for the new season.

For John Sheridan and his team to win promotion they will have to buck the trend and turnaround a sequence of six successive seasons of poor results at Home Park.
In each of the last six home campaigns not once have Argyle won more games than the opposition and in five of those seasons the opposition has out-scored Argyle on their own patch. The one season Argyle did manage to score more goals than the away team it was by just one goal!

The Greens have lost 41.5% of home games during the last six seasons and have won just 31%! Scoring 149 goals and conceding 174.
From the 138 league games played at Home Park during the last six years Argyle won 167 points while the opposition walked away with 209 points.

By contrast the last time Argyle secured promotion from the bottom league in 2001-2002 they won 19 games and lost just two, scoring 41 goals and conceding only 11.

Our home record since 2008:

Season 2008-2009 Championship - won 7, drew 5, lost 11. Goals scored 31, conceded 35.

Season 2009-2010 Championship - won 5, drew 6, lost 12. Goals scored 20, conceded 30.

Season 2010-2011 League One - won 9, drew 4, lost 10. Goals scored 27, conceded 33.

Season 2011-2012 League Two - won 6, drew 9, lost 8. Goals scored 23, conceded 26.

Season 2012-2013 League Two - won 8, drew 7, lost 8. Goals scored 25, conceded 24.

Season 2013-2014 League Two - won 8, drew 7, lost 8. Goals scored 23, conceded 26.

Ref For Argyle v Mansfield

The referee for Argyle's League Two game against Mansfield Town at Home Park on Saturday is Brendan Malone.

Return To Huish In Two Weeks

Argyle's postponed game against Yeovil Town has been rearranged for Tuesday 23 February with a 7.45pm kick-off.

River Deep, Mountain High

I whole heartedly agree with my Vital colleague, Ian's comments about the Yeovil postponement.

Thank You Yeovil

There have been some unjustified comments on social media and in the local press since Argyle's game at Yeovil Town was postponed yesterday.
