Greens v Reds Round 2

Greens v Reds Round 2

The big day has finally arrived!

FA Cup fever has hit the city of Plymouth because tonight Argyle will play Liverpool in a Third Round replay at a packed Home Park.

The 0-0 draw at Anfield on Sunday 8 January seems like a lifetime ago, since then we've had daily queues for tickets - in person, on the phone and online - and extra seats squeezed into the stadium, we've had ticket frustration, ticket elation, ticket madness, ticket sadness, poor communication, injuries, a 4-2 win, conclusion of a court case, cringe worthy newspaper articles, black market tickets, jester hats, half and half scarves, Sir Thomas of Tynan, overworked ticket office staff and extended loan deals but now at last all of that is behind us because the circus has stopped, it's now all about the game.

All the talk before the game at Anfield was about the Liverpool youngsters that manager Jurgen Klopp selected, that chatter has continued for the replay with everyone forgetting that the Argyle team also contains a lot of youngsters.
The back four that finished the game at Liverpool had an average age of just 23. Paul-Arnold Garita, Craig Tanner and Connor Smith are all aged between 21 and 23 and yet the media pundits concentrated on the ages of the players wearing a red shirt and not green.

Comedy co-commentator Steve McManaman is again working on the match for BT Sport, he was ridiculed by many for his comments and lack of understanding during his commentary for the game at Anfield and I'm sure he'll receive a good old fashioned Home Park welcome tonight!
The BT Sport live coverage starts at 7pm while the BBC have a highlights programme at 10.45pm.

Argyle manager Derek Adams will be without four players from the first game, Karleigh Osborne has signed for Kilmarnock, Connor Smith and Gary Miller are both injured and David Goodwillie has been made unavailable by the club following the conclusion of his court case of Tuesday.

It's Argyle's biggest game since the League Two play-off final at Wembley last season, however all of the pressure is on Liverpool, for the Argyle players and fans it's a night to savour.
