Green Army On The Road 2016 - 2017

Green Army On The Road 2016 - 2017

Nearly 24,000 Plymouth Argyle fans followed the team on the road this season.

An incredible 23,592 members of the Green Army travelled 11,639 miles to the far flung corners of the UK to watch the Greens clinch promotion during season 2016-2017. That's an average of 1,025 fans at each away league game, the third highest average away attendance in League Two.

Only Portsmouth and Luton Town had a better away following than Argyle with 1,503 and 1,088 respectively. Crawley Town had the least amount of fans follow them on the road at an average of just 140 per game.

When you consider the long distances the Argyle fans have to travel it's an incredible achievement to take so many fans to away games.

Of Argyle's 23 away games eleven attracted crowds of over 1,000 with 2,644 against Portsmouth the highest.
The away support dipped below 500 just five times while the lowest away attendance was 362 for the long trip to Carlisle United.

Overall, just over 116,000 fans have travelled to watch Argyle during our six year stay in League Two.

As for visiting supporters at Home Park - this season had an average per game of just 362 opposition fans watching their team play away at Argyle, the fifth lowest in League Two.
