Spencer Set For Mansfield Move

Spencer Set For Mansfield Move

Former Argyle striker Jimmy Spencer is set to join Mansfield Town.

The 25-year old was released by Argyle manager Derek Adams at the end of the season after the Greens had won promotion to League One.
Spencer played a crucial role for Argyle during the early months of the season; he often had to play the part as a lone striker and his hard work largely went unnoticed.
After picking up an injury midway through the season Spencer found it difficult to get back into the team as a regular starter but still managed to score Argyle's final goal of the season in the match against Grimsby.

In total Spencer made 25 appearances and scored three goals for the Pilgrims.

He is now set to complete his move to Mansfield on 1 July and today sold the Stags official website: 'I just spoke to the manager Steve Evans and we are looking for big things this season.
'We are going to get out of this league, that's what we all want, and I can't wait to get started.
'The club's looking to go to the next level and that's what I want to do as well.
'It's an unbelievable feeling, getting promoted. I've been to Wembley before with Cheltenham and we failed at the last hurdle but to get promoted automatically is unbelievable.
'It takes a lot during the season, grinding results as well as playing well, but I think with the manager he knows what it takes and let's give it a good go.'

Good luck Jimmy!
