He sounds a decent player, and from his reputation the one that excites me the most of the new signings so far.

It seems he has a decent shot on him and is not afraid to shoot from distance.

A good attacking midfielder, just what we need.

To be fair, like most of you probably I do not know much about Scottish football. I did however have the pleasure of being at the 2013 Scottish Cup Final and Carey was a substitute. It was s thrilling game. I can not really say I remember an awful lot of what he did but he didnreplace the industrious McGinn and clearly did alright as they won. St Mirren were well drilled and every man know how to that play that system.

I suspect a lot of these players that have come in are of this ilk. Industrious, learn and play their roles, never say never and want to do well.

Gus McPhearson, an ex St Mirren manager once said he was unable to offer a player wages he wanted and that player signed for Torquay (while he was proving a point about the disparity in budgets). So taking decent players from here will make our budget spread further.

I hope Derek brings the feel good factor back and I think the system he'll play is obvious for all.

Welcome to the 'Muff Carey
