Argyle battled to 1-0 win against Notts County at Home Park courtesy of a 47th minute goal from Graham Carey.

It was a struggle but all that matters is 3 points and other results going our way put us in a strong position.

Carey scored the winning goal but didn't have the best of games.
Threlkeld was magnificent and covered every blade of grass, he tackled and passed and blocked.

Adams tinkered slightly by playing Threlkeld deeper than Simpson and Carey but it didn't really work for the first half because Notts had plenty of possession in midfield.

Mellor went off early due to injury and was replaced by Forster.

Wylde had our best chance of the first half but his weak header was easily saved by Carroll.

Banton was a threat on the left and only poor finishing from Notts kept the score at 0-0 at half time.

The second half was a lot better mainly due to the midfield playing further forward.

The goal came from a cross by Wylde to Tanner who was just about to shoot but had the ball taken off his foot, no matter because it fell to Carey who rifled home. 1-0 and Home Park finally woke up.

Tanner had a couple of chances that were saved or went wide and Wylde was still a threat on the left.

Adams went for a 4-3-3 formation and brought on Reid and Nardiello and surprisingly subbed Wylde.

As the second half wore on the second goal didn't arrive and Notts put us under pressure late in the game helped by a generous 7 minutes of injury time.
We survived a grabbed the crucial win. Not convincing but at this stage of the season bit who cares when we win.

Threlkeld was man of the match by a country mile. He's getting better and better.

Nelson and Hartley were again strong at the back, the glue of the team.

Carey's set-pieces were hit and miss, one poor corner put Sawyer in trouble and earned him a yellow card. To Carey's credit his head didn't drop.

Brunt worked hard with no support, McCormick made a couple of good saves, Simpson had an anonymous first half and played a lot better for the second.

The poor atmosphere at Crawley and Yeovil was mirrored at Home Park today. It was all very low key, are the fans becoming nervous as we enter the final run in?

Man of the Match: Threlkeld.

McCormick 7, Mellor 6, Nelson 7, Hartley 7, Sawyer 7, Threlkeld 9, Simpson 6, Carey 6, Tanner 5, Wylde 7, Brunt 7. Reid 6, Forster 6, Nardiello 6.
