Ryan Taylor scored a dramatic 94th minute winner against Crawley Town to leave Argyle on the brink of automatic promotion.

In truth it wasn't one of Argyle's better displays of the season, the first half was one of the worst I've witnessed but points are more important than performances and this group of players certainly know how to win games. This away win was the 13th of the season and sets a new club record.

The match was a scrappy affair played on a horrible bobbly pitch. Argyle manager Derek Adams brought in Taylor and Gary Sawyer and moved Oscar Threlkeld into midfield.

We started well and the 1,500 strong Green Army were in good voice but the pressing from Crawley soon gave them the advantage and Luke McCormick was the busier of the two keepers.
Graham Carey tried two Hollywood shots that sailed over when better placed team mates were available for a pass.

Antoni Sarcevic played behind Taylor and struggled to get involved while Taylor had trouble staying on his feet.

Crawley took a deserved lead when a cross from Young, the younger brother of Manchester United's Ashley Young, was swept home by the unmarked Dean Cox.

It was an awful first half for the Greens.

For the second half Craig Tanner replaced Gary Miller and Threlkeld moved to right back, the change didn't make much difference but that all changed when Arnie Garita was brought on for Matty Kennedy, suddenly Argyle had momentum and urgency and levelled the game when Sarcevic was tripped in the area and Carey slotted home the penalty. 1-1.

Morris was the now the busier keeper and Crawley were not helped by being reduced to 10-men. James Collins received a second yellow card for awful challenge on Yann Songo'o, in truth it should have been Collins' fourth yellow card after a series of bad fouls.

With time running out substitute Tanner was replaced by Jake Jervis. Argyle were now pumping the ball high and long and from one of these attacks Sonny Bradley headed the ball forward to Taylor who held off a challenge and thumped the ball in to spark fantastic celebrations amongst players and fans and a pitch invasion.

Just seconds later the ref blew the final whistle and the players ran to the Green Army to celebrate, everyone knew how big this win was, the celebrations and amazing scenes at the end will live long in the memory.

Well played lads, despite giving Crawley the first 45 minutes.
