Uncertain Future For Paul Wotton?

Uncertain Future For Paul Wotton?
The tough tackling, set piece specialist was a trainee at Argyle and has remained faithful his whole career, making his full professional debut in the 94/95 season.

One hundred percent commitment every game has seen Wotton put in some commanding and solid displays as the leader throughout the greens rapid rise up the tables but fans of the club don't doubt the effort of the green blooded star, they do however question whether he can continue to achieve top class performances in an increasingly competitive Championship.

"Wottsy" has recently recovered from a long term injury, the lengthy absence has seen new blood arrive to the south coast club meaning he is in for a tussle to make the starting eleven each week.

Opinions amongst the Green Army are divided, some believing it is time for Paul to hang up his boots, at least for Argyle. Others think his determination and drive is irreplaceable and a useful contribution to the team on and off the pitch.

The first choice captain may not possess the skill that most players hold at this level but surely his firm character and never say die attitude is just what the squad may need in big games next season.

Wotton will be sure to end his career a rightful legend in Argyles history, it would be a shame to tarnish that reputation he holds.

Another season or two……?

Mr Plymouth Argyle is worth another year. It should be noted that Wotton has made a successful return from what can be a career ending injury, well done Paul!

There was a hint in what PS said after the match. Think it's time for him to move on. Very sad but one day he'll be back as a coach.

Wotton and Abdou are too similar - neither very creative but can do a job as a ball winner. I don't understand why Sturrock plays them together with Nalis sitting on the bench?

To be honest Wotton has reach the end of the line, he has been a great servant to the club and inspirational to the clubs climb up the divisions; but alas, his ability has been exceeded at this level. Argyle are now desperate for a new midfield general, Seip may have been the ideal candidate, but his recent attitude as probably put pay to that option. Glad I don't have this problem or the unpleasant job of telling PW. Jimmy is not the answer, he has nearly all of the attributes, but unfortunately needs to be physically strong in order to resisting a challange when on the ball.
